The lumber mill finished up the job, so we needed a place to put the lumber. A neighbor in Tolt River Highlands offered space at his R/C car race track. | We had to rent this forklift, powerful enough (rated at four tons) to lift a whole stack of lumber | The lumber was delivered by two trucks, each over two days…this is the first day’s worth | Same stack, with the surrounding area for scale | Spare pieces of lumber help weigh the tarp down | The Duniho grandparents were in town, so we took the whole family up to see the work |
They were already done unloading that day by the time we got there, but at least we got to sit in the forklift | Flynn | Guinness | And of course, Innaias | There are lots of deer in the woods…we saw this one driving out | Driving out the north end toward Lake Joy, another pair of deer couldn’t decide which side of the road they wanted to be on |
So we just waited for them to make up their minds | On the second day, Pete and and his father Mickey drove up hoping to see the second loads being delivered | But the trucks were just leaving when they got there | It was clear they’d rushed a bit…the plastic tarp had been torn in a couple of places | But the lumber seemed basically okay, so we just covered things up a bit better and left it at that | They delivered a bit more than half the first day, so the second day didn’t add as much to the pile |
