Flynn… | Guinness… | and Innaias…all ready to go, on Day Two | Heading out of Medford, OR | The Siskiyous make for a scenic drive | Nice to see snow on the trees instead of the road, for a change |
The fog would cause problems later, but it looks nice | Crossing the Klamath River | Detouring. The highway was closed on our intended route from Mt Shasta to Susanville, so we had to go down to Red Bluff, then head east, to the south of Lassen | The detour added hours to our trip, but was a nice drive too | The usual mix of mountains and farmland in the valleys | Classic western architecture |
Looks like a nice place to live | Starting to get foggy, heading into Susanville | Descending into the valley, fog turns to clouds | The weather was very cooperative, once we got past Lake Tahoe | Mono Lake | Flynn is very good at spotting Best Westerns |
The beautiful Sierra Nevada range | The Inyo National Forest offered some of the prettiest views of the trip | As well as the point of our highest elevation (nearly 9000 feet!) | Coming down the south side of that 9000’ hill | The high forested terrain was dry, but here it starts really looking like a desert | Sun is trying to set behind the mountain |
